Dark and Mysterious... My explanation for Black Holes, Dark Energy and Dark Matter. (Updated)

Some would describe space as big, empty and vacuum-like. Others describe the darkness between planets, stars, galaxies as nothing. But that is where they're wrong.

In fact there is no such thing as nothing so I don't see why you would make the word nothing... So just putting it out there, ok...

Dark Energy

The darkness you are seeing would probably be dark energy. Its energy cannot be harnessed yet, scientists know its there because its the thing that keeps the universe expanding. Without it the universe would collapse in a matter of seconds even before scientists knew it was it was happening. Oh yes seconds not years.

Before dark energy was discovered 1998 scientists believed that most of the universe was made out of stars. Now they are wrong. In fact dark energy is abundant in almost everywhere in the known universe. It covers about 75% of the known universe, and is most found thing in the universe. Not much is known about dark energy and scientists have many theories about it. It is literally whats make the universe bigger and bigger...

The universe is expanding moving faster than the speed of light... In fact some of the galaxies are expanding away from us at the speed of light.

Imagine if we could harness dark energy then we could do stuff like a Warp Drive in Star Trek. Many people still don't believe that something is faster than light because it hasn't been fully proven. Although if super-luminosity is proven by scientists to be faster than light Einstein would be wrong with some of his equations.

Dark Matter.

Dark matter is a weird type of matter. It cannot absorb nor emits light. Dark matter cannot be seen ,but results in invisible unexplained mass in the universe. Dark matter was found in 1932. Dark matter is neither normal matter or anti-matter and confuses scientists. It makes up about 21% of the known universe. Its the reason their are even galaxies, and what keeps the Earth, stars and planets from drifting off into dark space...

Black Holes.

Black Holes are mysterious dense black spheres that sucks in everything it comes in contact with. The black hole in the center of our galaxy is 26 thousand light years away. Black Holes are extremely dense, the black hole in the center of our galaxy is 10 times larger than our sun but has a mass millions of times the mass of the sun. One of the biggest black holes found in the observable universe was 1000 times larger than the black hole at the center of our galaxy. The largest ever found black hole had a mass of 21 billion solar masses.

Black Holes are formed when an huge supernova runs out of fuel and it starts to decrease all it energy and mass into its core. The energy, gravity starts to compress into the tiny shriveling core. Imagine crushing a sun's mass into a small marble. This creates neutrons if the neutron doesn't overheat it will turn into a small neutron star. This creates neutrons, if a neutron starts to overheat they will be crush to a black sphere with an over load of gravity and mass.

A black hole is black because light cannot escape it, the reason it is empty is because the star that made the black hole is gone. Technical black holes are a tear in space time physics. If an object comes in contact with a black holes gravity it will get sucked in and shredded by its gravity or spaghettified.

So what happens when 2 black holes collide? Oh they spin around each others orbit and throw of large quantities of gravity. Imagine 2 tornadoes circling one another, they starts to throw of wind in all directions, same with gravity. Finally the bigger black hole wins and they emerge into a bigger more dangerous black hole.

What I did in the holidays (Dinosaurs, Pizza, Minecraft, Fitness and Space.)

Hello blog readers welcome back to another blog post by me. Sorry about the amount of blog post I haven't been posting, but it was the holidays, and it was a long 2 week holiday.
Anyway this post will be about what I did in the holidays. So basically I did almost nothing but stay at home do a little bit of computer games, and get at least 1 hour of fitness per day. Most of the time fitness was climbing Mount Kaukau, walking and swimming. Climbing Mount Kaukau was mainly to improve my stamina and physical endurance. Swimming was just a sport I felt was a good sport to improve in...

I also read a lot of non fiction fact books. 80% of the books I were about space. So I learnt a lot of space facts, most of which left me with less answers than questions about space.

I also attended Anthony's party when he turned 13. The party guests were Will, Andrew and me. The party was more like a Minecraft server marathon. We played from 5pm to 11.30pm. As well as going to Anthony's party we also hanged out with Paolo in an Te papa exhibit called T-Rex meet the family. It was okay and the thing I like the most in the exhibit was this grip strength thing. The score I got 46 which was actually a good score. All the full grown men got above 80 with one hand. Whilst the full grown women got only 37 or below and some used both off their hands! Many complained how it hurt their hands, but really the harder you squeeze the worse the pain gets. This goes to show that manliness = power. By the way I beat my mum grip strength score by 11 and and Andrew's by 2.

But probably the most greatest time of my holidays, was making homemade pizzas on the last day of the holidays. I did like a pepperoni/Hawaiian/Meat Lovers combo pizza with a little bit of cheese. It was really delicious.

Anyway did you guys enjoy your holidays. Write in the comments below what was your favourite moment you had in the holidays. Hope you enjoyed my blog post. Bye...

After Production Post...

The production is finished... We had the production last week on Wednesday and Thursday. The production name was called 'Agents of SPACE.'

I was in the first dance. It was the Cantina dance, just like in Star Wars. My costume is a bird alien, like costume. It was fun to see the production fully put together. I enjoyed the production and it worked out better than I expected. There was 6 main roles in the production, that replace the actors for each night of the 2 nights of production. The 6 people had the most lines in the production.

The role I played in the production was a props. I had a good time in props. I think props did pretty good job pushing the props to the back, during the dance in the Jetly Mansion scene. All the props people did really well...

I think what we could have done better in props by putting out the props faster. But aside from that everything was mainly perfect.

For my performance, I could have made my costume better. I mean in the Wednesday afternoon dress rehearsals, my costume broke in both of the rehearsals. On Wednesday night, all of my staples fell off expect one on one wing strap. Then on Thursday my wings were hanging on one staple, but I didn't fall off, which was good.

This is all I have to blog about today, hope you enjoyed my blog post. Bye. Remember to comment.

Production.

Hello blog readers today I am writing my pre-production post. First of we are not ready and its getting closer...

I mean half of the acts aren't fully perfected and we haven't really practiced with costumes, and some don't have costumes finished. My role in the production is props, one of the most hardest. I mean we have to take props in and out in each scene. Josh is the prop captain, and he will be wearing a headset on the night to tell the sounds guy and other guys when to pull the curtain open.

What production should be like...
The dance I will be dancing in is the Cantina dance. The Cantina dance is in the first scene and I think has the most dancers in one dance in it. The song for the Cantina dance is the original Star Wars soundtrack. We haven't a full dress rehearsal for Cantina because people haven't finished their costumes. I have finished my costume but I might modify it so when I dance my wings aren't in a slant.
I think if we are going to make this a good production, we are going work hard and get a move on with the dances and songs.

What I learnt about the New Zealand parliament and elections this week...

This term our class has been learning about the New Zealand government and how it works. Today I will be blogging about What I have learnt in this topic...
I have learnt a lot about the NZ government here is a few things I learnt this week...

-New Zealand's government is based of the Westminister system.

-New Zealand was the first country to allow women to vote.

-New Zealand allowed Maori members to be a part in the parliament in 1868.

- The woman in the NZ 10 dollar note is Kate Sheppard.

- Kate Sheppard is famous because she fought for the right to let women vote in elections.

- The queen is actually the sovereign of the country.

-The queen in NZ gets represented by the governor general who at the moment is Jerry Mateparae.

- The sovereign is not allowed to enter the parliament whilst a the House is seated.
-Citizens can vote if they're 18 or above...

-The sovereign gets to approve laws or acts before they are made official.

- People vote by getting the voting papers and putting their choose in the voting booths.
-There are 2 votes in the voting paper there is the party vote such as Green, National, Labour, etc and then their is the electorate vote the person you want to represent the local area such Peter Dunne the person in the local area who gets the most votes wins...

- You can have special voting papers if you are sick, overseas and etc...

Bob is sad to see you go...
Those are all the facts about the NZ government I have time for... Thanks for reading blog readers... Hope you enjoyed this post and found it educational. Bye. See you in my next post.
